Last Saturday was a big day for H as he made his first confession. I’ve only got this photo of him beforehand trying to look angelic. He was very nervous and rather clingy. After his confession he went off on his best friend’s birthday treat to the nerf gun arena at Merry Hill. He came back tired, but happy, so a good day.
Sunday saw us out at the local carvery for lunch. H loves anything where he can help himself to the food he wants to eat. He’s a big fan of a roast dinner, so this was a success.
We also braved the DIY store to buy some tester pots of paint for the room we are planning to decorate next. On the downside, our heating and hot water wasn’t working, so the house was getting colder and colder. I got out the hot water bottles in the evening. H had never seen them before as we rarely use them. He liked having one in his bed (with a cover on) to keep his legs and feet warm.
I used up one of the tester pots (that we realised was a no-no as soon as we opened it – too dark for the room we had in mind) to decorate a mini chest of drawers for our bedroom.
Thursday saw H doing well at swimming. More about that tomorrow. On Friday I went to Maped Helix for a blogging event. Maped Helix are sponsoring National Stationery Week this year and the event was partly to promote that. It was lovely to visit a business with its roots locally. Helix (and their Oxford brand) have been based in Lye and now Kingswinford, both near Stourbridge in the West Midlands, for over a hundred years.
