Last weekend I went to a crafting afternoon with other local bloggers. It was a bit of surprise to me that my efforts didn’t turn out to be an absolute disaster. Catching up with some of the local bloggers was lovely. H was impressed by my achievements when I got home and my bird has joined his soft toy collection, although it’s not a bird apparently, it’s a pokemon. I did overdo it on my ankle a bit with a brisk walk to Digbeth and back from the city centre and running for a bus. I had seemed nearly better, but I’m finding it complains if I overdo it.
On Sunday H and I did some activities together that have appeared on the blog this week. H decided he was going to recreate his previous art work (Tipu’s Tiger – you can see it in this picture) in the medium of jam and toast. Jam art proved a lot of fun and apparently it was quite tasty too. Who would have thought it?
There’s certainly been a difference in the weather and a change in the feel of things this week. It’s still cold and frosty here in the mornings, but it certainly feels like spring is in the air later in the day. When the sun is out, it even feels quite warm. Certainly seems the cats are feeling this, as this week because they have been sleeping in different places: some of their warmer weather haunts. This week the conservatory (which is too cold to contemplate in winter) has featured as a sleeping spot for the cats on the odd day and H’s bedroom which is south-facing and gets quite warm when the sun is shining. I quite miss my furry friends not joining me in the study on their radiator bed.
Dawn is getting earlier too. My dawn pics are now mostly of the rooftop view rather than the trees view as the sun is rising at a slightly different place in the sky. I’m starting to think ahead to summer and holidays and getting outside more. Has spring come to you yet?
