Chicago Town have launched a new pizza range that’s perfect for those busy nights when you are juggling about ten million things with after school clubs, homework and other multiple demands on your time or calls for Mum’s taxi. It’s called The Pizza Kitchen and it has the look (and more importantly the taste) of a freshly prepared pizza. It comes with a unique (well I haven’t come across a frozen pizza with similar), freshly baked deli crisp crust which tastes a bit like tiger bread. Mmmmm!
There are 4 great varieties of topping available: Roasted Chicken, Deli Pepperoni, Cheese Medley and Garden Vegetable. H loves a pepperoni pizza above all others, so the Deli Pepperoni was the flavour that he went for and it was very quickly snaffled away. He particularly liked the crust which is very moreish and there was soon nothing left on the plate. If I am buying a fresh pizza I like to pick a vegetable one, but often that isn’t a variety you can get when it comes to frozen pizza. I jumped at the chance to try the Garden Vegetable variety with lots of broccoli and red onion. It brought a real freshness to the dish and no doubt helped me get some of my 5 a day.
It’s pretty clear that we have come up with two very firm favourites for those nights when we both need a quick dinner without a lot of fuss or advance preparation. The thing I love about a pizza dinner is that I can just pop it in the oven and get on with something else while it’s cooking. There are never any complaints about the food when I serve up pizza so it’s an easy way of keeping everyone happy. The Pizza Kitchen is going to be a regular in our house.
