I was part of a group of local bloggers who were given the chance to meet Stacey Solomon. Stacey is an ambassador for Sky Ride. It was a small group including Chris from Mummy of 3 Diaries, Annie from The Quarter-Life Tales of Annie Bean and Emma from Fashion Mommy.
As it was a small group, we all had the chance to ask plenty of questions and I was interested to hear the other questions, especially those from the fashion and music orientated bloggers, as they had a different slant on things to me.
Stacey was lovely: bubbly, chatty and friendly. She carried out the interview with her son Zachary who was very well-behaved throughout and clearly glad to be with his Mum.
What inspires Stacey to cycle? Stacey mentioned lots of things. Firstly her son, Zachary, loves cycling and is always asking to go out on his bike, so she goes with him. She cited our team’s amazing performance in the Olympics and stated that it was great to get people involved with bike riding.
What does she like about Sky Ride? She loves the fact that they close the roads to traffic. She commented on the lovely set up for the Birmingham event and how the weather had been good for it too. She mentioned how sweet it was to see children on their bikes.
How did Stacey find motherhood the second time around? Not surprisingly perhaps, she found it easier. This time round there was less panic and more confidence. She commented on how lovely Zachery and Leighton are together.
How do you keep fit? I go to the gym, but otherwise the children keep me fit: running around after them, going out on our bikes.
When is your new album coming out? Currently planning a first single in October with the album coming out in November.
Describing the album: It’s nice to be able to feature my own songs and to play a much bigger part in it than just singing. Lots of ‘floaty’ numbers.
What advice would Stacey give to young mums? Don’t let people tell you, you can’t do it. You can. Enjoy being a mum and don’t be afraid to get out and talk to people.
It was lovely to talk to Stacey and she came across just as you expect her to from seeing her on television or hearing her on the radio.
