We’ve had a number of near misses and I was beginning to think my son was immune to chickenpox, because he hadn’t caught it despite being near children who were infected. But, it’s caught up with us at last and we have a week at home in prospect.
Henry is very well with it and not itchy at the moment. The timing isn’t too bad – next week would have been better, but last week would have been a disaster as we would have had to cancel a lot of his birthday celebrations. It’s a shame we’re missing out on a few things this week like swimming and Buggyfit as they won’t be on for the next few weeks because of the school holidays, but it’s not the end of the world.
Have your children had it? Do you have any tips for dealing with it? I’m hoping we might spend some time at the allotment if the weather is ok. I’m going to raid the rainy day cupboard and invite friends round if their kids have had it. Might consider a walk in the countryside too. Any other ideas? If he does start itching, can you recommend anything?
