Recently Flora Queen asked me to try out their flower delivery service and I was happy to agree. My favourite flowers are roses, so I was drawn to bouquets with them in and there was a good range to choose from. In the end I settled for the Symphony of Roses bouquet because of the range of colours in it.
All went to plan and it arrived promptly on the expected day. I loved the fact that it even came in a vase which is great if you are a bit lazy like me or can’t find a vase the right size. It looked fantastic and the picture I put up of them on Instagram was very popular, so I clearly wasn’t the only one who thought so.
The only thing that I found slightly disappointing when they arrived was that there wasn’t that slightly heady, rose scent that I love.
Apart from changing the water once, I didn’t look after the roses in any other way and maybe I should have done because they didn’t last as long as I’d hoped. In less than a week they were gone, although the foliage still looked nice and green. I did ask Flora Queen about it and apparently roses can be difficult to care for and need the right amounts of water and sunlight. I think I might have overdone the sunlight, as they were in quite a sunny spot most of the time. It seems it’s recommended to recut the stems and change the water every two days, but there were no instructions to say that with the flowers. That said they did look amazing and I loved the fact that they came so nicely presented in a vase, so they would make a perfect gift.
