It might be officially spring, but it still feels cold here. I’m still in my winter coat more days than I’m not and it’s only a few years ago that we had a lot of snow at the end of March/beginning of April, so it pays to be prepared. I spend a lot of time outdoors being still or nearly still. There’s the school playground when I am picking up H and hanging around the park on the way home while he plays with his friends. Then there’s when I get dragged out for Pokemon Go walks, on those occasions I wear the whole winter weather gear: hat, gloves, scarf and coat. It keeps me toasty warm whilst H has a lure on a Pokestop or he’s battling a gym or something. A godsend this year have been my wonderful Totes gloves that they sent me to try out. They are perfect for me as it means I can use my phone without removing my gloves. I need something to keep me entertained whilst I am waiting and it’s helpful to be able to catch up on a few emails whilst I have some otherwise dead time, so that I can free up time later on. They are called SmarTouch gloves and they are really effective (both at keeping me warm and allowing me to use a touch screen).
We are very much into March winds and April showers now and a robust umbrella is a must. I love this flowery umbrella because it is so pretty, but it’s not the sort that will break on you come the first big gust of wind either. It’s easy to use and has a smooth opening action. An important feature for me is the fact that it folds up very small making it perfect for popping into a handbag or even a pocket. It comes with its own matching carrying case too, which I like too.
