Christmas With Warner Brothers

christmas with warner brothersA parcel from Warner Brothers is always cause for a celebration.  This one arrived just before H was sick a couple of weeks before Christmas.  It was a godsend because it meant that he had something new to watch in the shape of Polar Express.  It’s a child crowd pleaser for the festive season.  The animation is wonderful and it’s a magical tale.  That said I’d recommend watching as a family the first time as one or two of the scenes could be a bit scary for younger or more sensitive children.

New Year's Eve Film DvdNext up was New Year’s Eve.  It would have been ideal to watch this on the night, but both me and Mr 92three30 were tucked up in bed at 8pm because we weren’t well.  Watching the film a little later though gave us a chance to feel that we’d had a bit of a New Year’s Eve after all.  It’s an all-star cast with multiple characters and what happens to them one new year’s eve.  I don’t want to give too much away, but some of the characters are more connected that initially meets the eye.  It’s a light-hearted movie perfect for a date night in with a glass of wine.  We had great fun spotting all the stars and trying to guess how they all linked up.

The Dark Knight RisesLast and far from least was a Batman movie: The Dark Knight Rises.  It’s dark, very dark – in fact, we turned out all the lights to watch it as it worked better that way.  It’s action packed.  There a few things that seem unbelievable, but with Batman  it’s easy to suspend disbelief.  Again there are some big names here including many from this side of the pond: Michael Caine, Tom Conti and Burn Gorman (Owen from Torchwood), so there’s some star spotting fun to be had.

All in all we’ve enjoyed the Warner Brothers parcel and we’ve had the opportunity to watch some great films.  Christmas with Warner Brothers has been very good.
