Week 24 Project 366

Relaxing with the catsLast weekend we had a busy time (I know what’s new). Saturday saw us with the tree surgeons in.  Last week’s silent sunday picture showed you the work in progress.  The garden was in chaos so the cats too refuge inside.  Here’s H giving them some reassurance.

Skulls and bones quizSunday saw us at the University of Birmingham for a community open day.  H wasn’t very keen to go at first, but thought better of it.  When he got there he had a fantastic time.  He was particularly interested in this skull identification quiz and the geology museum with its fossil and dinosaur activities.  Another popular stop was the children’s art activities in the student union.  I think he enjoyed seeing the university too and he asked lots of questions about it.

orca whale leaping over wavesMonday’s after school activity was painting a whale picture.  H loves finding out about sea creatures.  Last week he was nagging me to take him to the Sea Life Centre.  He loves watching Octonauts and nature lilac burmese catprogrammes too.  He really enjoyed painting his picture and had lots of ideas like painting the reflection of the sun in the water.

This week in the wake of the tree surgeon, we have had our handyman decorator in to redecorate one of our rooms.  It’s to be the study and as I work from home, I’ll be spending a lot of time there.  The cats have been a bit put out by all the activity Walking home from school in the rainthough and have spent more time in our bedroom, which is unaffected by the changes and must feel safe and familiar.

The weather has been so up and down this week, sadly mostly down.  There have been quite a few wet walks to or from school.  Here’s one of the wet ones.  H was offered a choice of shorts or trousers that day and chose shorts (just for the record – it wasn’t a mean mummy forcing him to wear shorts just because it’s June and it’s supposed to be summer).

Walking to schoolHere’s one of the better days.  Yes, I know – why is he wearing trousers when it’s not raining and shorts when it is?  His choice.  I think he might have regretted the shorts decision because they only lasted one day.

Running home from schoolHere’s H running home from school on Friday (really sums up that Friday feeling I think) – it was a mufti day, hence no uniform.

Another lovely round-up! Love the clothes choice! My two do that all the time. I imagine some of the parents at school think I am slightly strange letting my daughter go to school in some of the things she does :D

  9. Great pics, looks like a busy week :-)

  10. Shell Louise says:

Ella always seems to choose a skirt without tights on cold days and trousers and tights on warm days!
I think she’s starting to learn now that there are consequences to ignoring Mummy when she advises that it’s going to be too hot for tights and trousers or too cold for a skirt and no tights!

Lovely photos of another busy week :)
