Week 23 Project 366

jubilee crownLast weekend we were still very much in the height of Jubilee.  H had been getting more and more excited about his school party last week and he enjoyed spotting flags and pictures of the queen all over the weekend.  Here he is out and about, in the crown that he made at school, plus wearing red, white and blue of course.  playing a John Crane recorder

H had a busy weekend helping Mummy with her blogging work.  This involved lots of trying out lots of different toys, games and musical instruments; staring in videos (with toys) and having pictures taken whilst wearing silly hats, masks, costumes, etc.  As always H takes it all in good part and there were lots of reviews up on 92three30 last week as a result.  We’ve been working on things during the whole week (as it’s been the half term holiday from school) and there are more reviews going up next week too.

playing a john crane recorder in a shepherds costumeWe’ve been busy all week, but out of our normal routine of school and after school activities.  There have been lots of house and garden chores to catch up on, especially as we are just starting on some fairly big changes to our house and the garden.  Daddy has been off work for the week too, so there has been plenty of Daddy playtime.  Sometimes it all got a bit much and sleep was the only way to go.

Sleeping in the carOften we managed to combine work with play.  We went on a trip to a very large garden centre to look at the paving for our patio.  There were lots of things to look at pets, fish, hobbycraft, a toy shop, plus there was a great children’s playground.  After the garden centre we went to a local National Trust property to continue with the fun.  H loved doing the Jubilee quiz that they had on.  He was running from On a swing in Hanbury Hall playgroundquestion post to question post around the grounds and largely reading them and answering them himself.  He’s learnt so much at school during this school year.

Young scientistH has been keen to develop scientific and problem solving skills this week.  He’s been obsessed by puzzle based computer games like 100 floors.  One of the items we’ve been testing out this week has been a science kit and here’s the scientist at work.  He loves the idea of conducting experiments.  His top suffered rather from ‘red’ water from one of his experiments – should have put an apron on him – hence he had to take it off for it to be put into soak.

Mirror Maze Sea Life Centre BirminghamLater on in the week another trip out, this time to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham.  Here is H and H again in the mirror maze there.  We went with friends and had a lovely morning out, but both mummies came home feeling completely exhausted.
