Last Saturday was a big day for H. He’d been working towards this all this school year: his first holy communion. I was glad that we didn’t have to worry about fancy white dresses and all the other accessories, as dealing with a proper tie and a sash was enough of a challenge for us. H looked very smart and everything went off very well. We celebrated that evening with a family meal at the local Chinese restaurant (H’s choice). There is a class party planned for a future weekend, as the other half of his class makes their communions this weekend. The next day we had a celebratory lunch out with H’s grandparents, but no pictures of that sadly as my phone has been out of action for much of the week – I have a new one now and all is good.
I told you the other week about H learning to ride a bike in less than 2 hours with some specialist instruction. We have been practising his skills a bit more to build up his confidence.
We had a lot of fun with outdoor chalking and playing hopscotch this week when we were working on our Mix up the Magic post. It’s lovely for it to be light and warm enough after school to get outside and have some fun together.
I had a great day with Miller and Carter, the steak house people, on Thursday. I learnt about how to cook steak and lots more. I’ve written about that on my other blog: A Little Luxury For Me. We got to eat some (a lot) of the steak afterwards and it just melted in your mouth: wonderful!
