The summer half term holiday week got off to an exciting start. It’s not often that you get the chance to do so many great things all in one day. First of all we got to meet Justin Fletcher, the children’s TV presenter, at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre. After getting to meet Justin, chat with him and pose for some photos with him, we went on to watch the show he gave at the centre. For lunch we went to review Pizza Express’s Piccolo Menu and very nice it was too. Then in the afternoon we went to Quest which is a very exciting activity centre within the Merry Hill shopping centre. We had loads of fun there and H is keen to return soon.
After such a busy day, we needed a quieter day at home. Sunday had perfect weather for working, playing and lazing in the garden. H got to try out his HABA Waterpark which we have been asked to review. As you can see he constructed quite an elaborate water way and what’s more it worked: the water flowed nicely down it.
On Monday H had some Daddy time while I got on with things. It was really useful as whilst I love having time off with H in the school holidays, I do still have lots of work commitments and it is difficult to get everything done.
Tuesday saw us on a train to London to go to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event at London Zoo. We had a great day out together and H enjoyed playing with all the toys. It was incredibly wet and I was very thankful that I’d packed spare socks for us both as we had wet feet at the end of the day.
We had some quieter days towards the end of the week. But, we still went to the gym and swimming. Other highlights included a visit to the fair in a local park. Here’s H emerging from the slide. He’s off out again today to the ThinkTank in Birmingham with his friend, which means that I’ve had a little time to myself to write this. What did you do in your summer half term holiday?
