Week 27 Project 52

Warwick Castle Mike the Knight ActivitiesLast weekend’s highlight was visiting Warwick Castle to see Mike the Knight.  H had a great time there and the weather was absolutely glorious which really helped make the day. Aside from having a great family day out, I got to see a lot of other bloggers, many of them local ones that I’d met before, but also some that I hadn’t like Karen who blogs at Really Missing Sleep.   I’ve been using the pictures for last week’s Silent Sunday and this week’s Saturday is Caption Day.

Smethwick FireEarlier this week I had an early morning tweet from Tammy at Me and the Tiny Three asking me if I could see the smoke from the Smethwick fire.  It was the first I’d heard about it, but a look out of the window revealed that I could indeed see the smoke from the Smethwick fire.  It was a few miles away and we were very lucky that the wind that day blew the smoke away from us, so we weren’t affected.

Walking Dancing BackwardsNow we are into July the end of term is in sight for H.  He’s looking forward to six weeks off.  It’s difficult to believe that Year 1 is nearly over and he will soon be in Year 2.  It really seems like a matter of a few months ago that he started school, but it’s nearly two years.  It’s been a week for school runs where we have dawdled a little enjoying a little play in the park on the way home.  Here’s a picture of H walking backwards in the park, but it really seems like he’s dancing.

carrying cakes for the school fairThe end of the week saw us bringing our latest and last contribution to the school fair.  We’ve donated a couple of tombola prizes over the last few weeks, but today it was cakes for the cake stall.  The fair is today and we can’t make it as we are at a family birthday party, but I’m sure it was a big success because of the lovely weather and all the hard work that’s gone into it.

Mike the Knight looked like a fun day out. We’re already on Summer holidays here. Hard to believe that’s been a full year at school!

  2. I’m glad that you enjoyed Warwick Castle, we quite like it there anyway it is a good day out though a bit pricey. That fire must have been a if one then, I didn’t hear about that at all. I don’t know where this year has gone either it has flown by.

  3. I love Warwick castle – we’ve been a couple of times and there’s always so much to see and do, it must have been a completely jam packed day with Mike the Knight there too! Can’t believe Harry has nearly finished a year already. I remember you writing about him starting school!

  5. I was so gutted they wouldn’t offer us tickets for the Sunday performance of Mike The Knight, I had to go to my school fayre on the Saturday which I couldn’t get out of. Love the cloud formations, and well done on your own fayre donations.

Thanks for linking up to Project 365

  8. What a fab day out at Warwick Castle!
I can’t imagine how fast life goes once they are at school proper- S takes the walk across the playground from nursery to reception, and I don’t know where this nursery year has gone!

  9. another eventful week, yes time flies once you have children, they grow all to quick. Thank goodness the wind was blowing the other way, but somebody must have been downwind. Hope you enjoyed the family party
