So what have we been up to this week? There is a little bit of a movie theme going on I think. We spent some time recreating scenes from the Star Wars films. H loved these cute plushies that Hallmark sent us.
There was a bit of modelling in the garden as we have been trying out some new outdoor wear for H.
The cats mostly snuggled up inside to avoid the rain. I love this picture of Amber’s tail wrapped round Bracken’s. They deserted the conservatory as it was a bit noisy (and not so warm) – we are having a chimney repointed and the work is going on above the conservatory. I’ll be glad to have the chimney done as I get a bit worried every time we have a storm, but we share it with next door so it needed to be a joint solution.
I went out to Wagamamas to try out the new summer menu at a blogging event this week. We tried starters, mains, drinks and desserts – this is the lemon tart, my favourite of the puddings (I don’t usually think of Wagamamas for desserts), but the chocolate cake was preferred by many. It was wonderful – I think I’ll be going back.
On Friday we had another movie themed day. After school we went to a press preview of Jurassic Kingdom at Birmingham Botanical Gardens with some friends. Very soon after arrival supposedly cool 10 year olds were running around excitedly looking for more dinosaurs and wanting to trip the sensors to make them move and roar. The sun was kind and we had a lovely summer’s late afternoon for our dinosaur hunting before the rain came back in a big way later that evening.
