What a lovely week! The weather has been gorgeous and it’s been years (it feels like) since we had a spell as hot for as long as this – it’s great to have a real heat wave. Last weekend we spent Saturday in my brother’s back garden for my nephew’s second birthday. It’s a very big garden so perfect for an outside party. A lot of preparation had gone into it and there were lots of games to play and the paddling pool was out to play in. H was in and out of the pool all day. When he wasn’t in the pool he was playing croquet or building with mega bloks. There was even a baby racoon at the party which was super cute and very cuddly.
Walking to school has been rather strange that week during our heat wave. H has wanted to wear a coat or a jumper and I have mostly refused to let him. It is a bit chillier first thing, but it soon warms up. We compromised on Friday, when he wore a jacket to school and I brought it back home with me. The last week or so the jumper he has worn in the morning hasn’t always come home with him, so I’m a bit nervous we are going to lose school uniform just before the end of term.
One evening this week we had the class bear sent home. I think every parent heart sinks when this happens. Our school seem to have just started it this term and Paddington is going round the class at break neck speed spending only one night in each home, so the pressure is on. We took Paddington scooting to the skate park in our local park to help us test out H’s new scooter.
