Last Saturday we went to a friend of H’s birthday party at Avoncroft Museum in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. I’ve already used a couple of photos from this day: this Eat Me teapot and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party table. Avoncroft Museum is a fun place to visit and I’m planning to go back soon, with more time, to explore it fully. Here’s H looking at one of the old police call boxes. It’s part of the National Telephone Kiosk Collection which includes telephone boxes from the past (and yes it does include one of the TARDIS police phone boxes).
Sunday was a bit of a lazy day for us. H wasn’t keen to go to rugby without his friend (who was away for the weekend). So we stayed close to home. In the afternoon H got to watch the Tintin film. He’s been reading the books at bedtime for some time now and we have g
ot a good way through the series. Getting to watch it on DVD was very exciting for H and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
The school run as been cold and frosty some mornings this week and on others wet or windy. Winter seemed to still have us firmly in its grasp. It seems like he’s only just gone back after Christmas, but H is already counting down the days to half term. He’s got another week yet.
There’s been more work on our big art project and we have very nearly finished and just need to put on the final details to our man. We’ve already finished the tiger half of the sculpture.
I did manage to capture a beautiful dawn this week. One advantage of dark winter mornings is the fact that I am always up before dawn and get a chance to take some pictures if the sky is colourful. Our garden is nicely orientated for taking dawn pictures.
We did go out for a lovely meal this week with friends in a pop up restaurant. The chef was Claire Hutchings who was a Masterchef: The Professionals finalist in 2011. It was wonderful.

I remember police boxes being on the streets when I was a child. But then I also remember the pay phone that you put 2d into when the person you were calling answered.

That dawn is absolutely stunning, such vibrant colours! I’m quite impressed with the police telephone box, I’d love to see one of those one day. Obligatory and mandatory photo of H in the park, good woman, the post wouldn’t be the same without
