Week 1 Project 52

Lilac burmese sitting on the bedAfter successfully completing last year’s Project 366, I wanted to continue taking lots of pictures without the same pressure to take one every single day.  I also wanted to continue with my diary style posts.  So I’m going showcase some of my best, most interesting or just those pictures that sum up the week best.

This week has been a trying week as it’s been a week of illness.  Mr 92three30 went down with the flu on Boxing Day and a few days after that I went down with a bad cold.  Because we have both been sleeping badly, coughing and spluttering, wheezing and sneezing, I’ve spent some nights in the spare room to make life easier.  It’s a smaller bed there, but the cats followed me and H has been joining me in the morning.  Nice to be popular (I think).

Week 1 Project 365 002His parents have been struggling with illness, but H has been full of beans.  He’s recovered from his pre-Christmas illness and has got over the long autumn term.  Sadly he didn’t have much time for parents that were feeling sick.  I struggled out to soft play a few times to provide some exercise and a change of scene for him.  It seemed the easiest option as all I needed to do was sit and nurse a cup of tea and read my book.

Playing with the Digger ArmOne trip we did manage was Think Tank Birmingham (a science museum) on New Year’s Eve.  We had a free ticket to use up by the end of the year, which was a motivating factor for the timing of the visit.  H always loves going there and we went with some friends, so he had someone to tag along and play with.  Here’s a picture of him operating the digger arm (a great favourite) in the museum.

On the roundaboutLater in the week I started to feel a bit better and we were able to venture outside especially as the weather was a bit better.  Here’s H on a trip to Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  We visit there regularly in the holidays because we have a membership pass.  We do much the same things on every visit: walk round the gardens; visit Jenny the Cockatoo;play in the two children’s playgrounds; and walk through the hot houses.  It’s a lovely place to while away an hour or two.

It is good Nikki, but a bit pricey so make sure you can spend a full day there when you go to get the most out of it. Think your boys would like it plus Miss A would like the imaginative play set up that they have there – can play doctors & nurses, run a cafe, a garage, etc.

Glad you are all on the mend. We like the botannical gardens as well – its a great place to go as L can run wild and you don’t have to worry about dog poo etc! Jenny is always on the to do list and she often responds to L’s voice and not mine. A visit isn’t complete without an ice cream – whatever the weather! I’ve been to thinktank twice quite a while ago and was disappointed.
