We are big fans here of me&i, the cool Swedish clothes company. H has previously had 2 tops from me&i to review. They still fit him well now and come up looking great wash after wash. The other month I went to their autumn/winter launch and discovered that they aren’t just for kids: there’s me&i womenswear too.
So this time we both got to try out one of their tops. We put them through their paces on a mother son trip to the Welsh coast on the train. With 7 hours total travelling and an action packed day by the seaside, it seemed the perfect way to try out me&i clothes for comfort and practicality. One of the reasons I’d picked them out to wear that day was because they felt so comfortable due to their soft fabrics.
My top can take you through the year. It’s lovely on its own on a warmer day with its soft, gently draping material. It’s made from 50% cotton and 50% modal; that’s why it’s so soft. For most of the year though, you’d need to wear it as a layering piece. It’s flattering v-neck shape makes it easy to wear with a scoop neck vest top or even a long-sleeved scoop neck T. Raw edges at the wrists and along the bottom edge give it a contemporary edge. I’m a big fan of the way the top drapes and hangs flatteringly, plus it feels beautiful. For added interest a butterfly is printed at the back of the neck and I feel this gives an extra lift to the top.
H’s top is a bit different to the tops we’ve tried before. Our previous ones were all over prints, but this one a hippo motif on the front and back against a plain red background. I love this shade of red and I think it’s perfect for either boys and girls. I also think it suits H’s colouring very well. The top has a narrow fit which gives it a modern twist and suits my skinny, growing boy. There’s humour too when you see the hippo’s bottom and what lies beneath it. This T Shirt is made from 100% cotton. It feels soft and is comfortable to wear.
Since we have had them we have worn both tops quite extensively and they have both been through the wash a number of times. They look as good as new still and are wearing well.
me&i sell their clothes through independent representatives. For the most part the representatives sell through home parties. It’s intended as a social way of shopping that’s convenient too. The shopping comes to the customer and there is no need for busy mums to drag unwilling children round the shops. You get to see and feel the products in the same way as you can in a shop. However, it is possible to buy from a representative direct.
me&i offers business opportunities for mums who want to work flexibly alongside family commitments and who want to work with a product that they believe in. If you want out more, have a look at the me&i website.
