Lipa Theater is H’s new favourite app. It’s a creative app for children from 3 upwards. It encourages children to create a story and they can use a range of characters and settings for their stories. It’s an engaging app and I love that children can take the initiative to invent their own stories and the app allows them to record their story, so they can show friends and family. That level of interaction is rare in an app I find (we have tried a lot) and H and I thought it would be fun to reenact some of the stories he created in real play life.
H has a big cowboy fan for a grandad and the first tale he took the chance to recreate (with some dressing up and Playmobil help) was one he’d made in Lipa Theater which was set in the wild west. You can choose from a range of cowboy characters and there are horses (which your characters can ride) too with ranch based scenery.
The great thing about Lipa Theater is that you can move from one setting to another. H has always loved pirates and he made another exciting adventure with pirates where they are sailing the high seas and visiting treasure islands. You can create your own weather, maybe your pirates could be caught up in a storm.
Another of the themes in Lipa Theater is around a castle scene with kings, knights and princesses a plenty to make your own stories with. Adding music to your production is another nice touch that Lipa Theater can deliver. There a plenty of props to choose from and your knights can be well kitted out.
H has loved sharing his stories with us both on the app and in real life. The app is available from the App Store and will be available for Android and Windows devices very soon.
