This week H got praise for his understanding and explanation of the ten times table on his number line. He explained how the ten times table worked to his classmates, which can’t be easy at 6. This year (year 1) they have been working on their 2, 5 and 10 times tables and we’ve been practising them each day a little on our walk to school.
He also got a pat on the back for his improved listening skills, which is good to hear (wonders when we will see them at home). Listening is such an important skill and vital for learning.
That wasn’t all because he got some recognition in front of the whole school too. His name went into the golden book at school and he got called to the front in assembly for a head teacher’s award sticker. He was thrilled when he found out about this on Thursday and enjoyed getting presented with his sticker on Friday. Only sad that the parents don’t get invited in to see it. The sticker has now come off the shirt and has been stuck on a sheet, that we have pinned on the wall to collect all his stickers on.
