Summer is often the season that I don’t buy many new clothes for. If we don’t have a good summer I don’t get round to it and I end up wearing the clothes that I have had for years. This year I was glad to be able to pep up my wardrobe with some new pieces including some with colours that really zinged. J D Williams encouraged me to pick out some favourite pieces from their online collections to try and I’ve really enjoyed choosing some new additions to my wardrobe.
First I wanted to pick out some tops. I love the colour of this Cold Shoulder Gypsy Top which is perfect for meeting up with friends or for a summer bbq. I’m loving it in lime, but it also come in black. It’s so practical because it doesn’t need ironing and the cold shoulder detailing really makes it. There are three-quarter length sleeves and it’s elasticated at the neck, cuff and hem.
This Bleachwash Denim Shirt is a very useful wardrobe staple and denim is back in fashion with vengeance this year. I found this a bit heavyweight for warmer days, but it’s perfect for cooler days and will take me through spring and autumn. The popper front fastening makes it really easy to put on and you can roll the sleeves up and fasten them if you want shorter sleeves for the day, but you can easily roll back down if it is cooler in the evening.
I am loving the Linen Mix Maxi Skirt in navy which is really easy to wear. It’s got an elasticated back waist so it just slips on and I like the long length. Being navy means you can pair it up with so many different colours, so it’s a really versatile piece. It’s cool too and perfect for warmer days. It has decent sized pockets which I’ve found really useful.
