We’re on the verge of the school summer holidays, but we all know that the British weather isn’t to be relied upon. For us that’s just something that we need to be prepared for and not something that need keep us in the house. In fact, there’s a lot of fun to be had outside on rainy day and you’d never go out if you weren’t prepared to take the risk of a shower or two. Helly Hansen agree and they recently sent ups some wellies and waterproofs to help us make the most of summer even if it turns out to be a bit wet.
Hubby is wearing a Loke Jacket – it’s an outdoor shell jacket which is really light and breathable, which is great on warm, but wet days. There are two handy zip up pockets for your essentials like keys, phone and wallet. On his feet he’s wearing Midsund Wellies, which are ever so practical, but they look good too.
I’m really pleased with my coat. It’s so nicely cut and really flattering. I opted for the night blue colourway of the Long Belfast Jacket. There are 3 zip pockets and a velcro one on the sleeve and there’s a hood. It’s really lightweight and it’s perfect as a summer waterproof. In fact, I’m already eyeing up the winter version for later in the year. My Veierland Wellies are a lovely purple colour. They fit snugly on my calves (which are quite big) and have a nice slimline shape. Very stylish too, I can see me wearing these on the school run for wet days all year round.
H loves wearing bright colours and red is his favourite colour. Luckily Helly Hansen had plenty of choice in red, so H picked out red Midsund Wellies to keep his feet dry. I love the jacket he picked out: the Salt Jacket. It’s designed with sailing in mind, but great as an everyday raincoat. Waterproof, breathable and windproof with fully sealed seams, it’s got all the protection that H needs. The hood can be folded away if you want. There are two external zip pocket and an internal velcro ‘coms pocket’.
