A little while Decathlon got in touch and asked us to work with them as they felt that back to school and the end of summer didn’t have to signal the end of outdoor activities and family fun. It sounded like just our sort of thing and we agree just because it’s colder outside, it doesn’t mean you should stay in all day. We’re all for getting out and having some fun.
Decathlon have put together 20 kits, all for £20 or less, to encourage everybody to try out a new sport or hobby or to keep some family fun going into autumn and beyond. Some of their kits are especially for geared towards children, whilst others are for group activities. Maybe you could get together with friends to enjoy a game of baseball, a footie kickabout, shooting some hoops (basketball) or making a racquet (tennis).
They’ve also put together some ideas for solo activities – whether you’re inspired by the recent Team GB success in Rio and want to brush up on your hockey skills, punch like Nicola Adams, or if you fancy some new kit for your workouts or getting away from it all with a spot of freshwater fishing.
We went along to the Decathlon site to see what might suit us. Try out Twenty for £20 quiz to find out which kit is best for you! We ended up with a Turnball set which is a great way of H keeping up his tennis skills. He goes to a regular weekly class, but this is a good way of improving hand/eye coordination in the back garden. H has been out there either challenging one of us to a match, or alternatively just hitting the ball around on his own. Either way it’s a way of keeping active and getting outdoors which has all to be good.
