Getting the dry cleaning done can be a bit of a chore and if you have heavy winter coats to get done they can be heavy and bulky to carry. Then you have to factor in time to take your cleaning in and time to collect it. I was asked to try out Laundrapp‘s service and see what I thought – did it make life easier?
How does Laundrapp work?
It’s very simple really. You go to the website and enter your postcode or you can download their handy app. This will let you check that they cover your area (they started off in London, but now cover quite a few areas including Birmingham where I live, but many others too including Bath, Preston and Glasgow) and what the prices are (they will vary by area). I did this and picked out what I wanted cleaned: my winter coat and a jacket. Once I’d selected this the website offered me delivery slots. I was offered 2 free delivery and collection slots and I took them as they were convenient for me. On the day of collection I simply got my dry cleaning ready to go: just emptied any pockets and had the items to hand near the front door. The driver arrived just as the time slot for collection started and I handed him the items which he placed in a bag.
A few days later and it was time for the items to be returned. Once again the driver arrived quite promptly (within 15-20 minutes of the time slot starting). He arrived in the middle of a downpour and carried my cleaning to the door under his brolly. The cleaning was neatly hung up and covered. Both items were nicely cleaned and ready to wear again. It was all very easy and I felt the prices compared well to others in the area when you take into account collection and delivery.
At this time of year I’m thinking about getting winter stuff cleaned so it is ready for the autumn when I come to use it again or simply about some spring cleaning. If you are thinking along the same lines you might want to try the Laundrapp service and currently they are offering a discount of £10 on all customer orders with the code ‘SPRINGCLEANING’. As well as that, Laundrapp have generously offered 3 £20 vouchers so you can try the service too. If you’d like to win, enter via the Gleam widget below.
