We love having picnics in the summer whether it’s in the garden; out exploring for the day; or even on the beach. At it’s simplest a picnic is any meal eaten outdoors, but there’s a world of difference between a few sarnies wolfed down while perched on a rock to making a bit more of an event of it. A meal is so much more enjoyable when you use nice things, you feel comfortable and you have a selection of treats to choose from.
We’ve been putting some of Olpro’s outdoor products through their picnic paces this summer to see if they can become Nine to Three Thirty picnic favourites. We’ve found Olpro’s Melamine crockery set really useful whether we’ve been eating outside on the patio or on the picnic rug on the lawn. I can easily see us taking this on holiday with us too as it’s lightweight and easy to pack. It’s not going to break easily so it can cope with a few knocks or being shoved into the back of the car before you set off. Food looks so much better (and I think tastes nicer) when it’s presented nicely, so it’s great to be able to use attractive crockery without stressing about breakages.
A picnic doesn’t feel like much fun if you are being buffeted about by the wind. Sometimes the blazing sun gets a bit much too and a little bit of shade is very welcome. We’ve found the Olpro windbreak really easy to use and light to carry. You just snap the poles together, stick them in the ground and attach the guy ropes. As you can see the windbreak has received feline approval and we often aren’t allowed to put it away until a little someone has had her afternoon nap.
