This week H and I went down to London on the train to go on a Skylanders adventure. H is a monster Skylanders fan and from time to time we have reviewed some of the games like Skylanders Giants and Skylanders Trap Team. This time though we were going to find out about the new Skylanders game due for release later in the year with the details being announced at a blogging event in London.
The new Skylanders Imaginators Game is due out on 14 October 2016 and one of the key new features is that it allows you to create your own Skylander to play in the game. H thought this was a great idea as it’s the sort of thing he often does at home anyway. He has created I don’t know how many of his own Skylanders in his notebooks. Every aspect of your Skylander can be altered, from abilities, voice, size and you can add accessories too like backpacks. In fact, there is a really impressive level of detail available for creating your own Skylander Imaginator character. H is super-excited now and is really looking forward to the new game’s release.
The event was a lot of fun. There were lots of Skylanders themed things to do. H got a T shirt printed with his choice of Skylander and got his portrait drawn digitally onto a Skylander. He’s never sat for a portrait before, so that was a new experience.
I think H consumed his year’s allowance of sugar in one event. We both enjoyed trying to guess the icecream flavour (and failed, but it was very tasty anyway). H picked just one sweet from the selection on offer, but it was this enormous lolly. He was still working on it an hour later when we got to Euston to come home.
We had such a good time at Skylanders Imaginators event so thanks for Activision and Skylanders for the invitation and for arranging for us to go. We can’t wait till October for the new game to come out – H believes it will be the best yet from what we have seen so far.
