H is fast approaching those teenage years. We aren’t quite there yet in terms of years or development, but at times there’s a hint or two of the teenage attitude creeping through. One thing is clear though and it’s that in many ways moved beyond certain things now. This has happened in terms of toys, films and books, but also in other areas of life too. He’s now looking for a more grown up vibe and one area that he’s now looking for something a bit more grown up is grooming products.
As kids get older there seems to be a move by lots of manufacturers towards something more chemical and industrial almost. You know when they are babies, it’s all organic this and natural that, but later on it’s all about the science and not necessarily in a good way. This is why I was interested to hear about 31st State,an original range of grooming products for teen boys, the first of its kind in the UK. Created by Stephanie Capuano, a mother of two teenage sons and a daughter, 31st State is the first dedicated teen boy body, hair and skin care brand featuring active, naturally derived ingredients that are kind to teenage skin.
They sent us some products to try and we’ve been using them out over the last few weeks. The Body Wash with Silver and Zinc is formulated to control body odour, targeting germs and bacteria that can cause spots. Now H isn’t too bad for some of those things yet, but he’s spending more time in the shower recently and this has a nice fresh scent which is pleasantly masculine.
Some of the products H isn’t ready for yet, but I did try the Spot Control Gel myself as I’d run out of my usual product. I was very impressed. It really quickly dealt with a couple of spots I’d developed and I’m wondering if I should switch to this from my regular product, even though it’s been created with teenage boys in mind.
31st State have a range of face, hair and body products with prices starting at £5.99.
