Last Saturday we ended up being free for the day unexpectedly. It was a lovely day after lots of grey, wetness, so we took advantage and went out Pokemon Go hunting. To be honest I think the craze has died down a little and H is a little bored as he doesn’t catch any new pokemon these days, but he did enjoy meeting up with his friend.
I did spend a little time preparing this layered salad for our meal. Getting the ingredients had proved a little troublesome as I wasn’t aware at that point about the shortage of salad in the shops. There’s me muttering under my breath about what sort of supermarket doesn’t have any lettuce and then when I did track some down in Aldi I was shocked at the price. I did end up buying it though just to get the recipe done as I needed it for my food blog. Blogger’s problems eh?
I decided to try to take a different sort of picture of the cats. You can only see one of them here (although the other was also on the cat’s cradle) and I think the angle makes Bracken look like a bigger cat than she is – she is very small and dainty.
There has been a lot of singing this week at home. H has a big concert next week that his year at school have been preparing for. They get to sing at a proper venue: the Town Hall in Birmingham and they will be singing with the other feeder schools for their school academy group. They are getting to sing lots of film songs and H particularly likes belting out ‘Nine till Five’, but I’m a bit dubious about whether the neighbours enjoy his take on the Dolly Parton classic.
