Last weekend was fairly chilled for me. I did get some job done and I also managed to relax a little. Saturday night was a party night so that was fun. Not sure that Bracken looks in the party mood in this picture though.
I took this picture one day when I was walking H’s friend and his brother to school as well. The boys are all getting so big now. H was most put out this week to find out that most secondary schools insist on you wearing boring, dull colours of coats. He likes to wear a red coat, so it didn’t go down well.
It’s been quite a tiring week – it feels like I’ve been quite busy and the latter part of the work was a bit emotionally challenging with some highs and lows.
H’s 11+ results arrived a day ahead of time. It was good news too. We are hoping he has just done enough to get into his favourite school. If he doesn’t get that he will be able to fall back on another Grammar School so all looks good.
Friday started well. H had the day off school and we went to buy some Halloween things for a blog project. Later in the day though there was some bad news. My Grandmother has broken her hip, but this didn’t come to light until my mum’s weekly visit. It seems the care home don’t have a record of a fall (although it’s difficult to see how else it happened) and whilst they were aware of her leg hurting, they didn’t do anything about it. The local hospital is not impressed and are wanting there to be an investigation.

That doesn’t sound at all good about your Grandma. So pleased about the exam results, I’ve been wondering how he got on, well done H. My son loves his red coat too, he would be less than impressed to wear dull colours #365

Ahh! That’s a rubbish rule about wearing dull coloured schools at secondary schools….I’ve just asked my teen if the rule is the same at her school and she doesn’t know and neither do I. Oops. She’s always wanted and wore a black coat.
Well done with the 11+ results! Good luck!
I’m so sorry about your Grandmother….That is rotten for her x

Oh my goodness that’s just awful about your grandmother. I can’t believe they don’t even have a record. Hope they get to the bottom of it. Shame H can’t wear a red coat…I would love to wear red too 🙂

Even with a slightly grumpy expression, Bracken looks adorable.
Great news about H’s results but what a worry about your grandmother. I hope she is well looked after in hospital,

That’s absolutely awful about your grandmother. I know you read about these things happen, but I like to think they’re not common. What a terrible shock for your family. I hope she isn’t in too much pain now.
Great news about the grammar school. Well done, H!

Not good news on your grandmother at all, hope she recovers well and you get to the bottom of it.
Well done n passing the 11+. I have to say preferred my kids in lighter jackets much better than dark coloured ones from a safety point of view.
