Saturday morning was spent trying to decide what to do about going to BlogOn, the blogging conference. It was being held in Manchester, but on a Sunday which isn’t great as the first train from Birmingham doesn’t arrive until after the conference starts. I decided eventually to stay in Stockport because the prices of hotels in Manchester weren’t affordable at over £100 a night for something very ordinary. So I stayed in a very ordinary hotel in Stockport instead for about half the price. I did toy with the idea of taking lots of arty shots of Stockport’s architecture, but I didn’t have the energy, so here are some of my alliums instead. They are very pretty.
At the conference I caught up with lots of friends and attended various workshops to improve my blogging. The one I learnt the most in was Mel’s session (from Le Coin De Mel) which was about photo styling.
I was pleased to see this week that H’s school didn’t decide to cancel their open top bus trip round Birmingham. H’s class and Year 3 went off for a morning of sightseeing. I do think it’s important to carry on life as normal despite these horrible attacks.
More photostyling: this time to showcase some towels. I’m trying to be inventive about where I take my photos to ring the changes. I wanted to give this a bathroom feel, but it’s actually taken in the study.
On Friday I had my new nephew arrive and I can’t wait to visit him this weekend. H is keen to see his new cousin.
